A Tough Split for the Stripes

Last night the Stripes' bats came out to play in the first game, maybe not so much in the second. And in the process, we earned a split with the tough-hitting Medium Pace team.

Game one was a tit-for-tat, back and forth game with 31 total runs scored. The Stripes put a 6 spot up in the bottom of the 6th to go up by 4, only to see that lead erased in thr top of the 7th. With the score tied, Jeff Donald started the inning with a liner and Al Boyd was walked. Garrett lined a single to right center and Jeff Donald rounded 3rd and sprinted for home. A good throw would have made the play close, but Jeff scored and we won, 16-15. It was the type of gritty win we've come to expect of the Stripes.

Game 2 just was not as close. Medium Pace kept their bats humming and it seemed that after the 2nd inning we were never in it. The final score of 18-8 reflected that.
